<1.2> Colour- White or Almost White
<1.3> Odour- Odourless or with the odour of Coconut



(2) SOLUBILITY-
<2.1> In Water- Insoluble
<2.2> Methylene Chloride- Freely Soluble
<2.3> Light Petroleum- Freely Soluble
<2.4> In Ethanol (96%)- Very Slightly Soluble at 60 degree



(3) IDENTIFICATION-
<3.1> Melting Point- 23 degree to 26 degree
<3.2> Composition of Fatty Acid- Complies with the Tests



(4) PURITY TESTS-
<4.1> Physical Clarity- Free from Extraneous Matter
<4.2> Acid Value- Not more than 0.5
<4.3> Saponification Value- 250 to 264
<4.4> Unsaponifiable Matter- Not more than 1.0%, determined on 5.0 g.
<4.5> Peroxide Value- Not more than 5.0
<4.6> Alkaline Impurities in Fatty Oils- It complies with test for Alkaline impurities in Fatty Oils
<4.7> Composition of Fatty Acids- Complies with the tests



(5) CHARACTERISTIC TEST-
<5.1> Melting Point- 23 degree to 26 degree Celsius
<5.2> Refractive Index- At 40 degree, 1.448 to 1.450



(6) ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS-
<6.1> Material Expiry- Not less than 03 Years from the date of Shipment.
<6.2> labeling- Clear Identification of Manufacturer Name & Address, Batch Number, MFG Dt., EXP Dt., Storage Condition.
<6.3> Certificate of Analysis- Material must supported with manufacturer certificate of analysis for individual batch.
<6.4> Storage- Store in well-closed container; protected from light.
