Khaya is a genus of seven species of trees in the mahogany family Meliaceae, native to tropical Africa and Madagascar.
Large tree growing to 30m in height.It has a smooth thick trunk, up to 1m in diameter with dark grey bark.
Glossy pinnate mid leaves form a thick canopy.It flowers in small white creamy blossoms and small woody 8cm capsules follow in the warmer months.
