The use case of the BSBM is to allow users to apply brakes on both wheels (at the same) from either hand (or both hands). Regardless the strength difference between the two hands (levers), the BSBM will automatically adjust itself so that it always applies the same force on both wheels at the same time. A lot of seniors do have hand strength problems due to arthritis.

Yet, the one hand parking from either side of the brake level provides a very useful and convenience when one side of the brake lever is closer to the user's position, the user have a different strength between their two hand, or the user have an injured hand.
A balance braking system can specially make a big difference on a wheelchair and a 3-wheel rollators. Have you ever tried to brake on wheel on a 3-wheel rollator?

As you know that the Anti-Lock Braking System for an automobile is a safety invention that only kicks in on certain conditions (such as emergency stop or a slippery surface) to prevent uncontrolled skidding. Having said that, 90% (or higher) of the time we are not using ABS. However, people are willing (and should) install the ABS whenever is possible. Today, ABS almost becomes the standard equipment for most of the automobiles on the street.
On the same token, a balanced braking system should be also installed on a rollator or a wheelchair with two hand brakes. Maybe only 10% of a rollator/wheelchair lifetime usage might experience a downhill (or a down ramp in the hospital, restraint, or hotel), but when this happens, the BSBM gives the users a very stable and comfortable control.
