Description about the Processing line

The product we are interested in is called Soy Chips or Soy Crisps that is produced using a twin screw extruder. The basis processing steps involved are-

a. Mixing of raw materials- The major ingredients such as defatted soy flour, corn flour/grits, soy protein isolate, salt, water etc. will be mixed in a mixer. The type of mixer required for this purpose can be selected based on the outcome of the initial trials which we plan to conduct in your facility.

b. Extrusion Cooking- The dough is extrusion cooked using a twin screw extruder and cut into the desired shape using the appropriate dies. The product will then be dried to remove moisture and will be converted into pellets. The pellets will then be expanded using a puffing equipment and the puffed product will be passed through a dryer (high temperature and short residence time or low temperature and longer residence time) to remove the additional moisture from the puffed product. Please note that we are not interested in frying the extruded pellet to puff the product. Our product needs to be puffed only by air.

c. Coating and Seasoning equipment- The puffed product will then be sprinkled with oil and coated with seasonings and spices.

d. Packaging- The finished product will then be packaged in pillow pouches.

As a total processing system supplier, we would like you to supply the complete processing line from mixing equipment to the coating and seasoning equipment including the associated conveyors, excluding the packaging machinery. The processing capacity of the production line should be 500-600 kg/hr of finished product and therefore, the capacities of the other processing equipment should be matched accordingly.

Please note that although initially our objective is to produce soy chips/soy crisps, we are also interested in producing a variety of other products su
