I- Mechanical and Physical Properties:

- Shape: Regular or Irregular.
-Size: From 100 mm. to 160 mm +/-10%.
- Moisture %: 1 - 6 %. (As received).
Ash %: 11 % maximum. (On dry basis)
Volatile matter %: 2 % maximum. (On dry basis)
Calorific value: 7300 K. cal./Kg. Minimum.
Shatter Test (l70 mm.): 92 % minimum.
Porosity: 33 % - 35 %.

II- Chemical Properties:

- Fixed Carbon %: 85 - 95 % (on dry basis)
- Sulphur %: 0.85 % maximum. (On dry basis)
- Phosphorous %: 0.02 % maximum.
- Aluminum %: 1.3 % maximum.
- Barium %: 0.02 % maximum.
- Magnesium %: 0.1 % maximum.
- Calcium %: 0.2 % maximum.
