RFQ Details

We are in need of purchasing four (4) tractors and eight (container - hauling type) trailers, to be used in conjunction with a shuttle service from our port facility in Klaipeda, Lithuania to our cold storage warehouse / logistics center located inland approximately 3 KM away. The tractors can be either two or perferably three axle, and if possible have hook-ups for electric service for refrigerated containers (Please note - this electrical hook-up is not an absolute necessity).

We plan to off-load frozen cargo from vessels docked at our pier, then place this cargo into refrigerated containers, which will be placed on the eight trailers that we hope you will provide. We then will shuttle these containers/ trailers, using the four tractors that we also need to purchase, to our cold storage facility, which is approximately 3.5 KM away.

Our idea is to have four container / trailer units at each location, four being loaded and four being unloaded at all times. We will use the four tractors to provide the transport necessary to facilitate this operation. Trailer drop and hook-up time is an essential element in the shuttle process. If you have another suggestion for a possible alternate method or equipment, please let me know, and I will be please to consider it.
