RFQ Details

Seeking price quotations for refined fused brown alumina powder - NOT FROM CHINA! We are a U.S. based corporation, and the U.S. antidumping duties against brown alumina from China are too high, therefore we are seeking brown alumina not of Chinese origin. We are end-user of material. Vendor must be an original manufacturer. We will personally perform a 2-day on-site quality audit of the manufacturing facility to determine manufacturer's ability to meet our requirements.

Approximate material specifications are:


Chemical Properties:
Al2O3: > 94.5 %
TiO2: 1.5 - 4.0 %
SiO2: < 1.5 %
Fe2O3: < .5 %

Size Distribution (in microns):
+ 300 um: 0
+ 212 um: < 5 %
+ 150 um: < 25 %
150 - 45 um: > 55 %
- 45 um: < 20 %

Specific gravity: ~ 3.94 g/cm3
Hardness: > 2000
Shape: alpha alumina, blocky with sharp edges

Tonnage: ~ 180 metric tons each month
Packaging: 1000-kg supersacks

Quality is VERY important to us; we require a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each lot of material we purchase.

We prefer purchasing material on account via Purchase Order, terms net 45 days from Ocean Bill of Lading, payment via wire transfer.

If your company manufacturers this material (not of Chinese origin), please offer a quotation which includes the following:

* Price per metric ton (FOB nearest sea port)
* Product specifications
* Recent COA
* ISO certification (if any)

We will be needing a long-term supply of this material; we are willing to sign annual contracts if desirable. We can only purchase this material AFTER we conduct an on-site quality audit of the manufacturing facility. Thank you in advance for any quotation you may offer for our consideration.
