Remote control surge protected power strip

Dear Sir:

Flat screen television continue to draw power even when turned off. As part of energy efficiency programs we would like to introduce a power strip with surge protection that can cut thepower of at the outlet or power strip so power does not flow to the television when it is turned off. The new plasma and flat screen televisions still draw significant power whne in standby mode (turned off) so we want to find a way to stop this draw of power.

The best option would be to have a remote control unit that can cut the power to the power strip, Much like the remote control that is used to turn on and off the television. It needs to be 110 volts and have surge protection built in to avoid damage to the television if there is a power surge in the lines.
