RFQ Details

I am wondering about the advantage of replacing an aluminum tube with a titanium tube. Cost, weight, strength, machine costs.
A current support pole is made of 1 inch outside diameter tube SWAGED (compressed) on one end to fit into the same size tube. The pole is made of 4 or 5 12 inch sections. This pole must support 1000 lbs (450Kg).
The current 5 section pole including the SWAGING weighs 550g. The 5 section (4 swaged) pole cost is $4.20.

Do you have SWAGING services?
Would the cost and weight of the titanium pole be much different?

I have pictures and more precise measurements available by email but my initial need is to know the general costs and advantages.
