FIRST: SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS



MILLING WHEAT ( TRITICUM AESTIVUM L. ) OF ( ) ORIGIN FOR BREAD PURPOSES.



1- WHEAT TO BE FROM LATEST CROP (200â€Â¦).

2- TEST WEIGHT 78 KG/HL MIN.

3- MOISTURE CONTENT 12% MAX .

4- PROTEIN 12% MIN ON DRY WEIGHT BASIS(N×5.7).

5- FALLING NUMBER /SEC 300 MIN.

6- TOTAL IMPURITIES 3.2% MAX INCLUDING:



a- GRAINS DAMAGED BY PESTS 0.5% MAX.

b- FOREIGN MATERIALS 0.2% MAX.

c- HEAT DAMAGED GRAINS 0.2% MAX .

d- BROKEN AND SHRIVELLED GRAINS 2% MAX.

e- GRAINS AND SEEDS OF OTHER CROPS 0.3% MAX.



7- WHEAT SHOULD BE WITH NATURAL COLOUR AND ADOUR.

8- GRAINS OF WHEAT SHOULD BE MATURE AND FULL.

9- GERMINATION TEST TO BE 75% MIN.

10- WHEAT SHOULD NOT BE GENITICALLY MODIFIED.



SECOND: HEALTH REQUIREMENTS



1- WHEAT CROPS SHOULD BE PRODUCED AND HANDLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND CODE OF PRACTICE OF FOOD HYGIENE IN ADDITION TO ANY INSTRUCTIONS ISSUED BY HEALTH AUTHORITIES.

2- TOXIC AND HARMFUL SEEDS 0.01% MAX.

3- ERGOT 0.01% MAX.
