As of March 27, 2020, SteelHome’s estimates of hot metal cost at Chinese large and medium-sized steel mills, averaged 2110.68 yuan/t (US$ 299.69) before 13% VAT, down 11.36 yuan/t (US$ 1.61).

The cost to produce 20mmHRB400 rebar was 3222.65 yuan/t (US$ 457.58), down 4.84 yuan/t (US$ 0.68), and the cost to produce 5.75mmQ235 HRC was 3220.65 yuan/t (US$ 457.30), down 4.84 yuan/t (US$ 0.68).
