RFQ Details

I̢۪m the buyer and assistant manager for a brick manufacturer in Cape Town South Africa , we manufacture

About 7 million bricks per month.



I̢۪m very new to internet trading, and would like to eventually import from over seas and market and distribute in South Africa.



We use many wooden pallets which we transport the bricks on, at the moment I̢۪m using 75mm mild steel wire nails which I̢۪m paying

R10.50 per kilogram locally , the problem being the nail has no thread and pulls out easily causing the pallet to come apart.

I want to use the 65mm ring shanked nail, which has thread running all the way down the nail.

Because of the thread the nail cannot pull out of the wood that easily, with the result the pallet stays whole that much longer, only

Problem the ring shanked nail costs R34.00 per kg locally,



I will use between 100 and 150 kilograms of the nails every month.



I̢۪m using this inquiry as a stepping stone to see how international trade and imports work, i.e whether I can import this quantity

To cape town from overseas and land it here cheaper than I can purchase locally.



Secondly, I want to then import little things in small quantities , laptop hard droves , mp3 players etc ,and use the internet to market and sell

Locally and thereby start my own internet and direct marketing business.
